Season 2 Breaking News

In a desperate attempt to save their season, the Victoria Orcas (2-7) talk HB Rodney Hendrickson out of retirement and signs him to a 3-year deal worth $16.67M

In Season 1, Halfback Rodney Hendrickson led the CFA with 2017 rushing yards and tied the league lead with 16 rushing touchdowns. He also finished 2nd in the League MVP voting, made the Pro Bowl and led The Victoria Orcas to the playoffs. The Orcas would end up getting bounced by the Little Rock Wolverines in the first round and Hendrickson announced his retirement after the Pro Bowl without a reason or explanation.

As expected, Season 2 isn't going well for the Orcas. After starting the season 2-0 they are currently on a 7 game losing skid and ranked at the bottom of the CFA in total offense. To make matters worst, Hendrickson's replacement Eddie Golston is out for the rest of the season due to a Hip Fracture. With only Dennis Diller and Bryant Sylvester left at the halfback position, the Orcas needed to make a move fast and after hours of begging and negotiating, Rodney Hendrickson finally signed his name on a lucrative contract and reported to practice immediately where he was welcomed by his Victoria Orcas teammates and staff with a standing ovation.

At 2-7 the playoffs might be a long shot but if Rodney Hendrickson can perform at the level he did in Season 1, this move could make a positive impact on the team. His leadership and experience alone should be enough to get this team back on the right track. He is expected to start this coming week when the Orcas travel to the cold state of Alaska to take on HB Rob Irvin (The player who was picked over him for MVP) and the 6-3 Anchorage Huskies.
